IN MY AMERICA

There is no poverty in the land of the free,

The home of the brave faced the poverty; took it on

And banished that condition from our shores; poor no more

Forever; in my America.

No need for bullets and guns in the land of the free,

The home of the brave faced militarized cops and for-profit prisons; took it on

Reformed and made better; justice prevails

Forever; in my America.

No need for cages or walls in the land of the free,

The home of the brave faced immigration situations and irregularities; took it on

With sensible policies, generous, kind, and fair; our strength is our diversity

Forever; in my America.

There is no racism in the land of the free,

The home of the brave faced its chequered past; took it on

With education, reforms, reparations, and hard work; all are created equal

Forever; in my America.

There is no pollution in the land of the free,

The home of the brave faced the problems and the filth; took it on

Easing reliance on fossil fuels, harnessing the wind, sun, and more; everything is green

Forever; in my America.

This can't be just a dream in the land of the free,

The home of the brave must have others like me; let's take it on

And firmly stand tall, to do what is right for the benefit of all; from sea to shining sea

Forever; in our America.
